FREELAND STUDENTS WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES
FREELAND - On Thursday, April 18, 2019, over 250 Freeland High School students will participate in a March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault, & Gender Violence. The March, including students of both genders, will begin in the Burger King parking lot, at the corner of Freeland and Midland Road, in Freeland, at 9:45 am. From there, students will walk along Washington Road to Webster Road, and end at FHS. This March is the culminating activity of an FHS Student Council and Be the Change project to raise awareness about this issue, and support the Underground Railroad, an organization focused on providing shelter and services for the survivors of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault.
Freeland High School teacher and organizer Jen Neal is excited about the interest that she is seeing from students to support this cause, and hopes that members of the community would join to march with the students or just come and cheer us on the sidelines. “We welcome anyone from the community that would like to join us and support this worthy cause.”
Freeland is looking for a Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. Please share with quality candidates you know.
FHS Senior Connor VanLoo won the Level 10 (18 year old) Vault, Floor, Rings & All Around State Championship in March and the Region 5 Level 10 Vault & All Around Championship last weekend. He he will compete in the Men’s Gymnastics Junior Olympic National Competition in May.
Freeland baseball will be hosting their annual “Pack the Pub” fundraiser on Monday, April 15th, from 5:00 – 9:00 PM at 2nd Street Pub. Join us for dinner, meet the players and coaching staff, and check out the awesome raffle prizes!

March was a great month for Freeland Robotics. In two events, the team earned the Quality Award & were District Finalists and earned the Safety Award & the Entrepreneurship Award. The team has qualified for the State Competition on April 11-13. Way to go FRC 5166.

Freeland presents the musical “Annie”- show dates are Friday, Apr. 5 @ 7:30 and Saturday, Apr. 6 @ 2:00 & 7:30. Tickets for assigned seating are $7 and are on sale Mon.-Thur. this week from 3:30-7:00 in the foyer of the auditorium. Remaining tickets available at the door.
