Our 6th-8th grade students participated in Cupcake Wars for the first week of our Summer Scholar Program. Students developed a recipe, created a budget, and created a marketing presentation for their cupcake design. They all did a great job!

The 5th grade summer school class had a visit from Barney’s Bakery to complete their unit on Donut Wars where they designed a prototype, created a budget and wrote a marketing pitch for a themed donut. Barney’s donated fresh baked donuts for students to decorate and talked with the students about the bakery industry. Thank you, Barney's Bakery!

We had our last FMS lunch yesterday and, with that, our last trivia of the year which was all about summer. Congrats to these ladies who earned Loons tickets and this shout out on social media for their win to end the year!

Ms. Heckman's Science 7 class spent the last day of class learning how to use microscopes and analyzing plant and animal cells. They then spent time looking at prepared slides and water samples from ditches, ponds, and pool covers of all different types organisms.

Congratulations to the following students whose art work were chosen to be entered into the Hemlock Semiconductor Calendar Contest. The theme was "Hidden Gems" which capture the places or organizations that have special meaning to our communities. They received a certificate and an Amazon gift card for their entries.

Last night we celebrated the success of our FMS Students at our End of the Year SOAR Assembly. Thank you to all of the donors who have helped to support our program this year and thank you to our Food Service Department for a great Ice Cream Social after the assembly.

FMS 7th Hour President Tesla Provoast presented Paper Plate Awards to every member of the 7th Hour Student Leadership Class. She also brought candy and wrote a special letter to each member. Thank you for your leadership, Tesla!

On Thursday and Friday, Ms. Heckman's and Mr. Wildey's Science 8 classes got to experience the Stem Bus from Delta College. Lots of hands-on activities such as Snap Circuits, 3D pens, Ozbots, welding simulation, a PNC machine to engrave a keychain and much more. Lots of smiles were seen after the experience.
