The parade starts at the elementary school, and progresses across Freeland Road to Webster, where it ends back at the high school.
During Homecoming Week , one of the traditions for the high school is having our students find Frankie the Falcon, who is hiding at one of our local businesses. Each day, students are given clues and the first student to find Frankie receives a gift card and wins spirit points for their class. Renue Physical Therapy had fun hosting Frankie the Falcon this week and Kaylee Moreno, senior, was the first student to find Frankie. Congrats Kaylee and the senior class and shout out to Renue for taking such good care of Frankie for us !

FHS students in Mrs. Clark's STEM class worked collaboratively with our 3rd graders today, learning all about catapults. Students created miniature candy corn catapults, and practiced their technique as they calculated and measured the distance they could send their candy corn flying through the air. It looks like everyone had a good time learning together!

Today, FHS is celebrating a special day with one of our teachers, Mr. Guentert, who is retiring. Mr. Guentert was a great addition to our staff since he was hired here in 1996. Prior to that he taught at Nouvel. Throughout his career here, in addition to teaching math, he has also served our students as a Varsity Baseball Coach, provided tutoring to students after school, taught summer school, and has served as one of our lunchroom supervisors. In addition to this, he has also been an instructor at Delta College, so he has devoted his entire career to educating students in many different settings. Congratulations Mr. Guentert, as you embark on this new chapter, and thank you for the years of service you provided to our students and school!

FHS is excited to highlight our Senior English teacher, Matthew. Beattie. He has been a teacher in our building since January, but this is his fourteenth year in education. He enjoys working with students in the classroom and sharing his love of literature with them. Although he is new to the district, his favorite memories thus far were watching his students present their capstone projects at the Senior Showcase last spring, and then watching those same students receive their diplomas at graduation. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, shopping at rare and used bookstores, fishing and playing chess. We are so pleased to have Mr. Beattie in our building and on our staff!

FHS students in Mrs. Neal's Physics class participated in the Aces High Speed Lab on Tuesday. They researched designs, annotated text on the Wright Brothers, designed paper airplanes, and tested them using the scientific inquiry process to determine how their plane design impacts the speed.
