FHS Senior Jack Townsend has decided to continue his football and educational career at Albion College. Jack, a three (3) sport athlete, earned All-State honors during his senior season of football at Freeland.
Freeland Bowlers recieiving TVC Division Honors: Miranda Spitz & Justin Traverse (1st Team) and Lauren Ostrowski & Darren Bila (2nd Team). Madison Wegner (23rd place), Noah Essex (13th), & Sam Schmitz (personal best game of 180) bowled well in the TVC Tournament.
The Clash for a Cure continues to do great things in Freeland, for our friends in Standish-Sterling, and throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region.

FHS Honors Sophomore English constructed two-part visuals, thinking outside the “walls”, representing evolution of the wallpaper from “The Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Gilman. Students supported their vision using textual evidence through cited quotes from the short story.
Recently, the FHS/MS Chief Science Officers attended a cabinet meeting at Covenant Hospital where they toured and met professionals from various departments. They also interacted with CMU's Medical School simulation labs used to train physicians studying various disciplines.
Thank you to everyone who supported our Volleytuff games on Monday! Your generosity helped us raise over $2000 for FHS Student Council and the Bailee Mantei Memorial Scholarship. Our Seniors took home the trophy and a night of fun helped support a great cause!
The Freeland Parent Support Organization and the After Prom meetings scheduled for tonight have been cancelled and moved to Monday, February 18th. FPSO meets at 6 pm and After Prom meets at 7 pm. Meetings are in the CIC room of the high school office.

This week, FHS would like to recognize one of our outstanding teachers, Mr. Corey DeRop. Mr. DeRop is in his sixth year here, and he loves teaching Government and Economics. More than anything, he enjoys it most when former students come back to tell him about the amazing things that are doing in college and in their lives. When he came to us from another school district, he wondered if he had made the right move, and within his first year here he knew he had because it felt like home.
There will be an After Prom planning meeting at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 12th in the High School CIC room. All junior or senior parents are welcome!

FHS 9th graders attended a trip to the Dow Tennis Center today, in support of our Health and PE curriculum. Students were able to play in tennis matches, learn new techniques, watch professionals play and hear tennis pro, Jacqueline Cako speak.
