Freeland Middle School staff enjoyed a staff breakfast this morning put on by our middle school student council. Thank you students and Aaron’s Flowers for the donated flowers. Our teachers loved it!

FMS Students had a great trip to NYC over the long weekend!
Students who will be in grades 7 & 8 next school year: The Freeland Robotic Club will be holding try-outs in May for the middle school robotics team for next fall. Informational meeting on April 29th in the FES Gym Balcony at 6:00 p.m. There will be an off season event that the team will participate in at Vassar Schools on May 11th as part of the try-out process. Mrs. DeShone and Ms. Shea did an amazing job presenting at a technology conference (MACUL) in Detroit yesterday. Congratulations to both for their hard work ensuring students receive high quality 21st century learning while at school.
Do you know a middle school girl who is curious about technology? Camp Infinity is a one-week summer technology camp for girls entering grades 5th-8th in Fall 2019. Camp Infinity introduces girls to computer and internet technologies through hands-on activities. FMS 7th grade student, Michael Huegel, scored well on his Math Counts math competition last Saturday at SVSU, and after the Math Competition Michael had the opportunity to meet and talk with the SVSU's Robotics Team, and Formula One Racing Team. Congratulations Michael!
What a great way to end Friday night. Freeland Middle School 8th grade band students just received straight 1s during their festival performance. This is an amazing achievement for our band students. Congratulations to Mr. Shaw and the 8th grade band.
Tonight was a fun and busy night for our middle school students! Our boys basketball team played Swan Valley, and at halftime our Pom team put on a great performance. In addition to this, our 7th grade band did a great job during their winter concert!
8th grade students, Pritesh Ravi and Makenzie Schultz, were recognized today for their achievements. Pritesh is moving on to the state competition for the America and Me Essay Contest and Makenzie was awarded The President’s Volunteer Service Award for her volunteer work at the elementary school. Our teachers are so proud of both students!
