
FHS received an amazing message of hope and support from Terry Hessbrook with the B#4 Foundation, this morning. The B#4 Foundation strives to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention through education, outreach initiatives, advocacy, and community service. Check out this project in Mr. Keson's FHS Advanced Manufacturing Technology class! Students are using a Shaper Origin CNC machine to cut out a wood top for a fabricated metal table. They're learning valuable skills in CNC programming, metal fabrication, and woodworking. This project is a great example of how these technologies can be combined to create something truly unique.

Exciting things are happening in Mr. Keson's FHS Manufacturing Technology 2 class! Students are diving deep into sheet metal fabrication, by crafting two-drawer boxes. They're mastering techniques like forming, pop riveting for the handles, and spot welding for a strong, lasting build. It's awesome to see these projects take shape!

Congratulations to our Literary Art Club, under the leadership of Mrs. Howson, as they received a First Place Award from the American Scholastic Press Association for the 4th consecutive year from our 2024 issue! We are so proud of the work our writers and artists produce, working together to create a winning publication each year!


Congratulations to our FHS Theatre Department, under the direction of Mrs. Murray, for their 4th place win at the state competition this past weekend at Wayne State University! The company of "Mrs. Packard" also won the Black Gaffe award for Backstage Teamwork and the Innovations in Theatre Trophy, in addition to receiving numerous individual excellent and superior awards. We are so proud of all of you!

We are sorry to inform you that the FHS Theater Department's performance of Mrs. Packard is canceled for this evening, due to inclement weather. If you would still like to see the show, the company will be having a final dress rehearsal at 3:15 today in the theater.


The Rotary Club of Saginaw Valley supports scholarships for FHS seniors each school year, and their main fundraiser for these scholarships is a special raffle. Raffle tickets are $100 and include food, beverages, and entertainment at a special event at the Saginaw Country Club on May 14th. Top prizes are $5000, $1500, and $500 and only 400 tickets are being sold. If you would like to purchase a raffle ticket, please contact Freeland High School at 695-2586, and ask for Traci Smith.


Congratulations to senior, Ben Cook, who was honored at the Rotary Club of Saginaw Valley today, with a $1500 scholarship. He presented to the Rotary Club today, and he did a fantastic job sharing all of the wonderful things he has been a part of at FHS. Ben is pictured here with his parents, Kelcey and Jodi Cook, as well as his teacher, Mrs. Neal, and his guidance counselor, Mrs. Harrold. We are very proud of your hard work, Ben!




Since 2020, FHS has proudly displayed our seniors on banners that are hung on the light poles throughout Freeland. We are now accepting donations to help cover the cost of these banners. Congratulations to our FHS Literary Art Club, under the direction of Mrs. Howson, for being honored by The REALM program, which publicly recognizes excellent literary magazines produced by students with the support of their teachers. Painting with Ink, our student publication, has been recognized as a REALM First Class magazine by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).
This year, schools in 46 states and five countries nominated 422 student magazines. 125 magazines were awarded the contest’s highest distinction, REALM First Class which included Freeland High School.
Mrs. Howson, advisor of the literary-art club says, "We have worked very hard to build our magazine every year since its inception in 2020 and are proud to celebrate both the humanities and the talented artists and writers at FHS! We would also like to thank Tamara Klida, art teacher, for helping us curate a beautiful collection of pieces!"

FHS is pleased to highlight Mr. Andrew Keson to you. Mr. Keson teaches CAD, Drafting, Manufacturing Tech and Advanced Manufacturing. We are so pleased to have Mr. Keson on our staff!


Our sophomore class visited the Saginaw Career Complex today to learn about all of the programs that they could enroll in for the fall. Our students had a great time exploring options for the upcoming school year.







Today, our FHS Volleytuff teams visited the elementary school to prepare for their big games tonight. It looks like the students had a lot of fun. We hope you will join us for Volleytuff which begins at 6:30 at the high school. Admission is $3 and you will be supporting our student council.

FHS students in Mrs. Keefer's Foods and Nutrition class participated in Cupcake Wars as part of their final exams this week. The theme was "Countries Around the World", so you will see Egypt, Japan, The Bahamas, Canada, Ireland and Iceland represented in the student cupcakes.








Looking for something fun to do with your family? Join us at FHS for our Annual Volleytuff Tournament with the juniors vs. seniors for a night of fierce competition. The game will begin at 6:30 on Friday, January 24. Proceeds help support our FHS Student Council.

It is final exam week at FHS, and we had 93 students attend our Exam Cram session yesterday! Students enjoyed studying with peers, teacher support, pizza and prizes. Good luck on exams this week!






Congratulations to our youngest Freeland Robotics Students from our First Lego League. This is team Axolotl and they consist of 5th graders Evelynn McMall, Lila Sullivan, and Hailey Haven, 4th graders Mallory Moeller, Charlotte MacDonald, and 3rd graders Claire Vogel & Evelyn Pham. This team has qualified for the First in Michigan Lego League State Tournament held this Sunday at Mason High School. We want to wish them the best of luck. Falcon Proud!
