Freeland Elementary and Learning Center kicked off March is Reading Month with a special visitor! We are "Swinging into Reading," and the students are excited for various activities planned throughout the month. A special thank you to the Great Lakes Loons for letting us borrow Lou E. Loon for a little bit this morning to surprise our students!

Attention Elementary Families!

Recently, our 5th grade students traveled to Flint to visit both the Longway Planetarium and Sloan Museum. This was made possible by the support of our Freeland PTO who generously supported our fifth graders by paying for their admission to both venues. During their visit, students learned about the life cycle of stars during the planetarium presentation and then traveled to Sloan Museum’s Science Discovery Zone, Historical Galleries and makerspace. It was a fun filled, hands-on learning experience that students came away from still discussing on the bus.

We are hoping that our elementary students brought the Lions good luck today with their Blue Day last Friday! Go LIONS!

Congratulations to Mrs. Wirsing, our 6th grade EDGE Teacher!
EDGE is a new 6th grade class at the elementary school and stands for Exploration, Discovery, and Growth Experience. The class ties in all 6th grade subject areas with emphasis on hands on learning, technology and STEM!
