Congratulations to Mrs. Boyes on receiving a grant allowing 3rd grade to visit the Midland Center for the Arts Museum on November 20th. This will be a rewarding and educational trip.

HS STEM student, Taylor Armbruster, doing Candy Corn Catapults with 2nd Graders.

Fifth Grade Social Studies students had the opportunity to research explorers and then participate in a grade level museum walk. During the walk they observed and reflected on each other's hard work.

Students in Mrs. Dobson’s room are conducting investigations to learn about properties of matter in science.

Mrs. Trainor's Class is so fortunate to have Mrs. Della Wilder visit them each week. Mrs. Wilder teaches them about Michigan authors to go along with their Social Studies curriculum and to match current events. So far, the students have heard a wonderful applesauce story in which they got to sample homemade applesauce. They have also read the log of Christopher Columbus, read a football story for Homecoming, and had a Patricia Palacco Halloween story read to them. Mrs. Wilder is a librarian for Saginaw Public libraries. Interestingly enough she started the library in this building when it opened and she was just out of college. Mrs. Trainor's class looks forward to her visits!

Create a game. Play and practice. What a creative way to teach subjects and predicates.

Reading Workshop at its best!
Independent reading, small group instruction, reading response and more. Great job third grade.

Thank you Zion Lutheran for your partnership. We appreciate our partnership not only for the easy parent pick up location, but for the water and treats as well! Thank you parents for respecting our neighbors and parking in the parking spots not along the sidewalk curb.

Mrs. Benkert's and Miss Meyers second graders completed an activity that required them to communicate and make a plan collaboratively as team. They increased their communication with each other, and used strategies to stack all the cups in one pile without touching the cups.

Halloween parade and party times have been selected and added to the FES events calendar located both on the app and website. Expect individual teachers to provide details pertaining to your child's classroom.

I would like to congratulate our 2018-2019 Student Council members. I look forward to the wonderful ideas and partnership this school year.
