Michigan Technological University plans to host a one-week, beginner-level, face-to-face GenCyber summer camp for fifty middle/high school students (grades 8 - 12) during the week of June 27 - July 1, 2022, with various pre-camp and post-camp activities during the school year. The theme of the camp is Cybersecurity + Artificial Intelligence (AI), as AI is redefining every aspect of cybersecurity. The camp covers various fundamental knowledge in cybersecurity and AI, including ethics, phishing, python coding, AI intro, machine learning, applying AI to cybersecurity, and building robust and trustworthy AI. Camp activities include hands-on exercises, interactive lectures, discussions, games, career exploration, and campus tours. The camp is offered at no cost to all participants. Camp participants can choose between the option of live-in (20 seats, mainly for non-local participants) or the option of commuting (30 seats, mainly for local participants).
