FMS Remote Learning

Good Morning FMS Families,

Thank you for your patience as we have worked through planning for remote learning. Our teachers have been (and will be) communicating with students as they plan for Monday, November 30th to ensure we have a smooth start with remote learning. However, I also wanted to make sure I went over some expectations for our students and parents/guardians prior to Monday.

Please make sure you watch THIS video (alternative link HERE if the youtube video doesn't work) before Monday with your child to ensure he/she is prepared for the expectations we have for his/her remote learning experience.

Also, we will be following the regular middle school schedule for school. School will be in session from 7:40-2:30pm. THIS link will take you to our daily plan for scheduling with students as well as a reminder of our Zoom expectations. We are planning intentional "Zoom" breaks each hour so that students are not "live" for the entire day. This is exhausting for our students, so we want some live sessions and on your own sessions happening each hour of the day for our students. Students will be expected to participate in a variety of instructional techniques throughout their live sessions including Zoom polls and breakout rooms. Additionally, they will utilize GoGuardian and Google Classroom for communication with the teachers and students working to complete work for their classes.

On behalf of Freeland Middle School, we hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We know it may not be the Thanksgiving that many were hoping for, but we are so happy our students and families are able to have this break prior to beginning our remote learning on Monday.

Please let us know if you have any questions!
