Jamie Simerson, Freeland High School Guidance Administrative Assistant
Freeland High School is pleased to welcome Jamie Simerson to our secondary staff this year. She has been with the district for two months working as the Guidance Administrative Assistant.
When asked for some information about herself and her new position, Jamie shared: I am a proud mother of three children.. Liam is a senior and Hayden is a junior at Nouvel Catholic High School and Lola is an 8th grader at Hemlock Middle School. I have been married to my wonderful husband TJ for 18 years. We have a love for animals and own three dogs and two cats. You may see our dogs as they are currently loving to visit any walkers or neighbors’ homes around the house. One of our dogs already made the Freeland 411 page for wandering a bit too far!! We moved into the Freeland Community this past summer coming from Hemlock. We are a very busy sports family and enjoy watching the kids in their year round activities. In our spare time, you can find us at our cabin in Houghton Lake doing all the fun things that come with our beautiful Michigan summers and winters. You can usually find me tinkering with home projects as I love interior design, creating and helping many to transform their homes to updated beauties! Our house is blessed with friends and family often and I would not trade our chaos for anything!!
I am the new Guidance Secretary at the High School. Coming from Hemlock, I drove a school bus for 10 yrs. I find my biggest joy in helping others and being a part of a school community. The kids are the reason I love what I do. There are many parts to this position, it is so rewarding to help our high schoolers accomplish the much needed steps as they begin to enter that next big part of life. We start with them so curious and young and then give them the tools to soar as they enter into adulthood to succeed as shining stars.
Being a part of Freeland HS has been nothing but amazing so far. I learn everyday, have a staff that feels like family and the kids are definitely keeping me busy. Many smiling faces all around, I couldn't ask for more!! So blessed and thankful for this opportunity! -Jamie
