Mrs. Koehler and her family. Congratulations on being Staff Highlight for the Freeland Learning Center .

This week, Freeland Learning Center is highlighting one of our specials teachers, Mrs. Jessi Koehler who is the STEM teacher for the Learning Center and Elementary school students.  Mrs. Koehler is in her 20th year teaching in Freeland.   She is also a parent in the district with four elementary school students.  Mrs. Koehler is always innovating and bringing new and exciting STEM ideas to the district.  Just this year she was able to establish an outdoor classroom at the Learning Center to give students hands-on experiences while learning.  She is also always ready to help with technology questions and issues that may arise, as she did while we were all learning remotely.  Helping students, parents and other staff members with technology is her passion.

When asked what she finds most rewarding about her position, Mrs. Koehler said,  “As a STEM teacher, I love to see the excitement in all of the students when they make a new discovery.  Plus, there is nothing better than students sharing how their STEM experience has inspired them to keep on exploring outside of the classroom.  I feel so lucky to work in the Freeland Community School District because of the wonderful staff and students and also the amazing support I've received from the whole community.  I am a very fortunate teacher!”

Thank you Mrs. Koehler for your dedication to the students and families of the Freeland Learning Center and for all you do for the Freeland Community School District.
