Freeland Community School District

This week the Freeland Community School District is proud to highlight the great work being done by Caila Wellsted. This is Ms.Wellsted's thirteenth year in nutrition services, her last two being here at Freeland Schools as the Nutrition Services Director. She knows the importance of happy and healthy students and that hungry students do not perform at their best. The most rewarding part of her work is putting that into action, by encouraging students to discover new foods, such as hummus or homemade pico de gallo and helping them understand that making healthy choices is a priority. She always looks forward to having students join in the cooking process in the kitchen and getting their hands in on the action. Getting students involved in the process, allowing them to ask questions and sample is the best way to entice students to try new things. She is excited for the summer meals program again this summer.
